Businesses now face the task of how to “build and maintain authentic organisations”, said LBS professor Rob Goffee and Gareth Jones, LBS Fellow, Executive Education, and Visiting Professor at IE Business School at the London Business School HR Forum. Click for more information He gave the example of a young consultant who was also an accomplished classical pianist. “He didn’t want to give up playing the piano professionally, but he also didn’t want to lose focus at work. So we found a way to let him do both. He said he always wanted to play in Carnegie Hall. So now he plays concerts at Carnegie Hall as part of his job here and he gives the proceeds to charity.”
